Après des études de scénario à la Fémis, Alice Winocour réalise trois courts métrages qui remportent de nombreux prix internationaux – dont Kitchen, sélectionné en compétition officielle au Festival de Cannes en 2005. Elle collabore à l’écriture de longs métrages, parmi lesquels Ordinary People de Vladimir Perisic (Semaine de la critique, Cannes 2009) et Mustang de Deniz Gamze Ergüven (Quinzaine des réalisateurs, Cannes 2015), film pour lequel elle obtient, avec la réalisatrice, le César du meilleur scénario original en 2016 et qui représente la France aux Oscars 2016. En 2011, elle réalise son premier long métrage, Augustine, avec Vincent Lindon, Soko et Chiara Mastroianni (Semaine de la critique, Cannes 2012, Toronto 2012, nommé au César du meilleur premier film). Son second long métrage, Maryland, avec Matthias Schoenaerts et Diane Kruger est présenté à Un certain regard en 2015. Proxima, avec Eva Green et Matt Dillon, remporte une mention spéciale au Festival de Toronto 2019 et le Prix du jury au Festival de Saint-Sébastien 2019.
After studying screenwriting at La Fémis, Alice Winocour directed three short films that won many international awards (among them Kitchen, selected as part of the Official Competition in the 2005 Cannes Film Festival). She co-wrote several feature films such as Ordinary People by Vladimir Perisic (Critics’ Week, Cannes 2009) as well as Deniz Gamze Ergüven’s Mustang (Directors’ Fortnight, Cannes 2015), for which she, along with the director, won the 2016 César for Best Original Screenplay, and which represented France at the Oscars in 2016. In 2011, she directed her first feature film, Augustine, with Vincent Lindon, Soko and Chiara Mastroianni (International Critics’ Week, Cannes 2012, Toronto 2012, nominated for the Best First Film César).
