Diplômé de l’Académie nationale des arts du Kazakhstan en réalisation, Adilkhan Yerzhanov participe à deux reprises à la section Un Certain Regard du Festival de Cannes, avec The Owners et La tendre indifférence du monde. Il est également sélectionné deux fois dans la section Orizzonti de la Mostra de Venise, avec Yellow Cat et Goliath. En 2022, son film Assault remporte le Grand Prix de Reims Polar. Cadet , sa première incursion dans le genre horrifique, représente cette année le Kazakhstan à l’Oscar du Meilleur film international.
Adilkhan Yerzhanov graduated from the Kazakh National Academy of Arts with a degree in film directing. He is a two-time Un Certain Regard participant at the Cannes Film Festival, with The Owners and The Gentle Indifference of the World, and a two-time participant in Venice’s Orizzonti program, with Yellow Cat and Goliath. In 2022, Assault won the Grand Prize at Reims Polar. Cadet, his first foray into horror, is Kazakhstan’s official entry for the Best international feature film category at the 2026 Academy Awards.
