Nathan Ambrosioni

Nathan Ambrosioni fait ses gammes dans le cinéma au milieu des années 2010, en réalisant durant ses vacances scolaires deux œuvres de genre auto-produites, rapidement projetées dans de nombreux festivals internationaux. En 2016, il se tourne vers un cinéma plus intimiste avec le court métrage Ce qui nous reste, avec Zoé Adjani devant la caméra. L’année suivante, à seulement dix-huit ans, il écrit et réalise son premier long métrage, Les Drapeaux de papier, dans lequel il met en scène Noémie Merlant et Guillaume Gouix. En 2021, il écrit Toni, en famille, qu’il tourne l’année suivante avec Camille Cottin dans le rôle principal. Suite au succès du film, il retrouve la comédienne pour Les Enfants vont bien. Le film est présenté l’année dernière au Festival de Karlovy Vary, où le cinéaste remporte le Prix du meilleur réalisateur, avant de gagner les écrans français en novembre dernier.

Nathan Ambrosioni began his filmmaking journey in the mid-2010s, directing two self-produced genre films during his school holidays, which were quickly screened at numerous international festivals. In 2016, he turned to more intimate storytelling with the short film Ce qui nous reste, starring Zoé Adjani. The year after, at just eighteen, he wrote and directed his debut feature Paper Flags, featuring Noémie Merlant and Guillaume Gouix. In 2021, he wrote Toni, which he directed the following year with Camille Cottin in the leading role. Thanks to the film’s commercial success, he reunited with Camille Cottin for Out of Love. The film premiered at the 2025 Karlovy Vary Film Festival, where Nathan Ambrosini was awarded Best Director, before reaching French screens this past November.
