Louise et Michael se rendent à la ferme familiale où ils ont grandi, au chevet de leur père mourant. Leur mère, en proie à des crises de démence, est convaincue qu’une force extérieure s’est insinuée dans leurs vies. Les incidents troublants se multiplient et se font de plus en plus inquiétants.

Louise and Michael are brought back to the family farm they grew up on when their father becomes deathly ill. Their mother is acting strangely and seems to be haunted by an unseen presence. As time goes on, the two siblings start to understand what is happening to their mother as the same presence makes itself known to them in increasingly terrifying and deadly ways.

Né en 1977 à Crowley au Texas, son premier long métrage, The Strangers, rencontre un vrai succès commercial et lui permet de fonder sa propre société de production, Unbroken Pictures. Il produit au sein de cette dernière ses films d’horreur suivants, mais aussi ceux des autres comme February d’Oz Perkins (2015), présenté au Festival de Gérardmer 2016, et Strangers: Prey at Night de Johannes Roberts (2018). The Dark and the Wicked est son quatrième film.

Born in 1977 in Crowley, Texas, he chalked up a major success in 2008 with his feature debut, The Strangers. He subsequently created Unbroken Pictures, the company with which he produced his own horror films and those of other directors, such as Oz Perkins’ February (2015), presented at the 2016 Gérardmer Film Festival, and Johannes Roberts’ Strangers: Prey at Night (2018). The Dark and the Wicked is his fourth film.
