Il grandit dans l’arrière-boutique d’un magasin de vidéo, se nourrissant uniquement de popcorn et de Skittles, en regardant des films trash en VHS. Il réussit à s’enfuir par la boite de retour des cassettes vidéo et trouve refuge dans un cabane perchée dans un arbre, où il est adopté par un groupe d’enfants qui propose un service d’extermination de monstres. Il finit par atteindre la taille adulte et commence à réaliser des films publicitaires et des vidéo-clips, notamment pour les groupes Walk the Moon, The Offspring, Good Charlotte, The Fray et Sara Bareilles. En 2015, il signe son premier long métrage, le film de zombies à suspens gonzo et stylisé, intitulé Contracted: Phase II. Destroy All Neighors, une comédie sanguinolente aux effets spéciaux crados, est son deuxième film.

Raised in the back room of a video store, subsisting on a steady diet of popcorn, Skittles and trashy VHS, he escaped through the return slot and found refuge in a treehouse where he was adopted by a group of kids who ran their own monster extermination service. He eventually leveled up to man-size and started making commercials and music videos for bands like Walk the Moon, The Offspring, Good Charlotte, The Fray, and Sara Bareilles. In 2015, he directed his first feature film, the stylish gonzo zombie thriller Contracted: Phase II. Destroy All Neighors, a twisted splatter-comedy full of goopy practical FX, is his second film.
