Panos Cosmatos

Né à Rome au milieu des années 70, il réside ensuite d’un pays à un autre avant de s’établir au Canada. Il grandit dans la banlieue de Vancouver et se passionne pour le heavy metal, l’art fantastique, la science-fiction et les films d’horreur. Après le décès de sa mère, il plonge dans une spirale d’autodestruction dont il réussit à émerger après avoir pris la décision de faire un film ou de mourir en essayant. Un an plus tard, Beyond the Black Rainbow, son premier long métrage, prend vie.

Born in Rome in the mid ‘70s, he spent his early formative years toted all over the globe before settling in Canada. Growing up in the suburbs of Vancouver, he obsessed over the minutiae of heavy metal, fantasy art, science fiction and horror films. After his mother’s passing, he descended into a vortex of self-destruction and emerged having made the decision to make a movie or die trying. A year later, his first feature Beyond the Black Rainbow was born.
